WLAN: WPA2 at the TU Dortmund

Here you find information about the WPA2 standard at the TU Dortmund.

The ITMC offers access to the wireless network "ITMC-WPA2" for members of the TU Dortmund.

ITMC-WPA2 is in a testing phase since the 21.04.2008.

advantages:

• The transfer between the Access Point and WLAN of your PC is encrypted.
• Third-party software is no longer required (VPN client, VPNC, Movian, ...).
• No problems of compatibility between VPN client and operating system.
• You only need your Uni-account to register yourself, a seperate login is not required.

What you need: 

You need a valid Uni-account of the TU Dortmund.

Your PC must fullfill the following standards:

• 802.11b/g WLAN Interface
• WPA2 
• EAP - PEAP
• MSCHAPv2 

Before setting up your pc for the new wpa2 connection, please note:

Get the latest drivers for your WLAN-card of your mobile device! Look for the new drivers at the manufacturer of your card. Do not use the Microsoft Windows driver update.

If your WLAN-card does not support WPA2:
