LiDO: The Linux-HPC-Cluster at the technische Universität Dortmund

As a tool for academic research LiDO is available to the research community at the Technische Universität Dortmund, the academics at the college of higher education of Dortmund and (restricted) to the Ressourcenverbund NRW.

For this reason the ITMC offers a special infrastructure:

• a compute cluster system based on "Distributed Memory Computing" architecture,
• many highly efficient computing nodes (CPU-number and -rate, main memory),
• a communication network with less latency,
• a parallel high performant filesystem,
• scientific and engineering software (especially for FEM methods), for serial as well as parallel applications. This software is partially applied for within the scope of a national licence and may therefore be used nationwide.

LiDO is also used for the preparation of projects and programs to be run on high performance computers.
